Thursday, June 04, 2026 /// DYCA PIO

Yap FM - The YUMO Task Force, in coordination with the U.S. Department of War (DoW), has extended the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Airport and Seaport Projects through June 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Yap Time.

The Draft EIS evaluates the potential environmental, cultural, and community impacts of proposed improvements to Yap's transportation infrastructure and identifies measures to avoid, minimize, or mitigate those impacts.

The YUMO Task Force encourages public participation in the review process. Anyone may submit comments on the Draft EIS, regardless of residency or stakeholder status. Comments regarding historic properties, as defined under the National Historic Preservation Act, will also be considered as part of the cultural resources consultation process.

All comments must be received by June 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Yap Time. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Public Comments page can be accessed through the U.S. Navy NEPA site: https://www.nepa.navy.mil/yapeis/
