Yap FM - On Sunday, December 14th, the Bank of Guam, hosted their annual Christmas Parade in the Colonia Area. The Bank of Guam also invited the Yap Cooperative Association (YCA), Yap State Public Service Corporation (YSPSC), IBoom, and LY Car Rental to join the parade. In the spirit of the Christmas holidays, each organisation decorated their vehicles with vibrant colours of Christmas ornaments and garlands.
To start off the event, all participants were gathered at the Federated States of Micronesia Petroleum Corporation (FSMPC) area as the starting point, where everyone would initially make their way around the lagoon to the Public Library area.
While making their way around the lagoon, each organisation was passing out candies and other sweet treats, as there were people all lined up beside the main road, collecting candies and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.
This Christmas event is a long-standing tradition that brings together residents of all ages from different communities on Yap main island to officially celebrate the beginning of the holiday season, promote community spirit and unity, and provide family-friendly entertainment.
