Yap FM - The Inaugural Yap State Department of Resources and Development Conference 2026
concluded on a high note with the official signing of the Conference Outcomes Document—a significant milestone that transforms four days of dialogue into a shared commitment for action.
Held under the theme, “Caring for our Land, our Sea, our People: Securing our Future,” the conference brought together state leadership, traditional leaders, development partners, the private sector, students, and community members to discuss the future of Yap’s natural resources, economy, workforce, and communities.
Throughout the week, participants explored key priorities including responsible land management, economic development, food security, workforce enrichment, marine conservation, and community engagement. Together, these discussions laid the foundation for stronger partnerships and a unified vision for sustainable development.
The conference culminated with the signing of the Conference Outcomes Document by the Honorable Nicholas Figirlaarwon, Speaker of the 11th Yap State Legislature, the Honorable Thomas Falngin, Chairman of the Council of Pilung, and Director Bernard Gorong sat in on behalf of Governor Francis Itimai.
This signing represents more than the close of a successful conference—it reflects a collective commitment to move forward together, turning ideas and recommendations into meaningful action for the benefit of Yap State and future generations.
The Yap State Department of Resources and Development extends its heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors, presenters, exhibitors, volunteers, partner organizations, and participants whose dedication made this inaugural conference a success.
