Change of Command Ceremony Held for Joint Task Force-Micronesia Monday, May 19, 2025, /// DYCA PIO

Yap, FM - Rear Admiral Joshua Lasky took command at Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz on May 15, 2025, during a traditional military change of command ceremony. RADM Lasky relieved Rear Admiral Greg Huffman, who had previously held the position. The ceremony marks the formal transfer of authority and responsibility.


The change of command ceremony at Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz commenced with the arrival of distinguished guests. The 721st Army Band of the Guam Army National Guard provided entertainment, performing both the U.S. National Anthem and the Guam Hymn. Following the anthems, Chaplain Captain Steven Roberts delivered the invocation.


ATTENDEES: Governor of Guam, CNMI, Consulate Offices of Korea, Japan and FSM as well as Yap Delegation the Director of the Department of Youth and Civic Affairs, Alex Gilfiley and Yap State Attorney General, Villiame Tuinadi Lagonilakeba - Nominee on invitation from the admiral through the FSM President’s office to Yap.

Outgoing commander, Rear Admiral Greg Huffman, addressed the attendees. He then introduced the guest speaker for the occasion, Lieutenant General Joshua Rudd of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.


Following Lt. Gen. Rudd's remarks, The leadership transition then took place as Rear Admiral Joshua Lasky officially assumed command. Both RADM Huffman and RADM Lasky offered speeches reflecting on the change in leadership.
