Governors Office held a Courtesy Call with representatives from ADB, PMO and DTC&I

Yap FM - Yesterday, September 21st, Governor Francis Itimai welcomed representatives from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Department of Transportation, Communication and Infrastructure (TC&I), and the Project Management Office (PMO) during a courtesy call held at the Governor’s Office on September 21.

The courtesy call provided an opportunity for the Governor to formally welcome the visiting representatives and acknowledge their efforts in supporting the implementation of the ADB project in Yap.

During the meeting, ADB representative Emma expressed her interest in working closely with women’s groups on the island. She also highlighted the upcoming two-day training sessions, which will include discussions and information sharing on gender-based violence (GBV).

The training sessions were conducted at the Small Business Development Center Conference Room and the Yap Women’s Association Conference Room. The sessions provided participants with an opportunity to exchange information, share experiences, and strengthen awareness and understanding of gender-based violence and related issues.

The Governor’s Office recognizes the importance of collaboration among the ADB, TC&I, PMU, women’s groups, and other local stakeholders in supporting the successful implementation of the project and strengthening community engagement.

The State Government extends its appreciation to the ADB representatives and project partners

for their continued engagement and commitment to supporting development initiatives in Yap.
